MONIKER ART FAIR 2016
I exhibited two of my pieces ; Dont Shoot and Unité, at the Moniker Art Fair 2016 in partnership with UPOP Contemporary, at the Truman Brewery, Bricklane.
Don't Shoot was created especially for the fair, a mixed media acrylic and collage piece based on institutionalised racism, abuse of authority and police brutality. The collage elements documented the very last words of the many victims of police brutality that took place that year.
Unité- a mixed media acrylic and collage painting was based on the social media bias which take place after terrorist attacks. The piece was made to point out that all humans, muslim or otherwise deserve compassion, prayers and a social media uproar after having been subjected to terrorism. We should always unite against fear and terror.
